My First Date with Arnie the AI

Have you met the new LinkedIn AI Profile Enhancer Guy?

Let's call him Arnie.

He propositioned me...

And I imagine Arnie propositioned you too.

He's putting himself out there and I appreciate that.

But he comes on a bit strong eh?

Right away.......Arnie made all these promises and pinky swears about transforming my LinkedIn Profile.....even over text!

He was like: Wanna have a drink down at the Kentucky Inn?

I was like: Hey Speed Racer, how about coffee first?

And I'd barely stuck a straw in my Chaggachino....(we were still talking about the weather!!!)..... when Arnie mined my profile and my website.....and gave me my very first AI-written About Section paragraph.

It was over in 3 seconds.

Sigh.

I give Arnie a big A for effort.

Because Arnie SURE knows how to build compound sentences.

Arnie can Summarize and Synthesize!

Other big S words too.

But..(spoiler alert)

.......NOTHING Arnie said was original in any way

.......Arnie didn't help me stand out from thousands of other coaches on LinkedIn

........And I feel about as special as a used Taylor Swift CD

So......I'll be swiping LEFT.

While I remain curious about AI, I won't be seeing Arnie again.

Now.....if a LinkedIn Profile SHOULD be a BIO....if that format ACTUALLY WORKED, Arnie would be amazing.

But a LI Profile should NOT be a bio.

LinkedIn About Section Bio is very.....2010.

It's a RESUME. It's all SELL.

And you're way SMARTER than that.

And SO is your client.

A LinkedIn Profile (LIP) should be a CONVERSATION, not a bio.

A LIP should make your AUDIENCE the hero of the story, not you.

A LIP should help your potential clients self-identify, rather than brag.

A LIP should inspire an EMOTIVE reaction, not just a linear one.

A LIP should give your audience a few CONCRETE TIPS in YOUR VOICE.

A LIP should help you STAND OUT from the COMPETITION, not blend in.

I believe that AI is a powerful tool.

I know I need to keep giving it a chance.

You know, get past the third date.

And Arnie is probably a really nice guy.

But he was NOT the right AI guy for me.
